A lot has happened in the last couple months.
First of all, leaving La Grande was hard. Way harder than I
thought it was going to be. You’d think that after living with the family for
that many months, I would be glad to be out of there, but our time was up too
soon! I really miss them. Plus, my departure was much more dramatic and sudden
than I had imagined.
We’re currently living in the beautiful Mesa Falls
apartments back in Rexburg. I’m not
going to lie, this place costs an arm and a leg, so I’m working hard to make up
the difference. My job is… slightly unenjoyable to say the least, but it pays
well. For that, I am thankful.
Although I’m not taking classes anymore at BYU-Idaho, I haven’t
stopped learning. In fact, I think I’m learning more now than I was through
formal education, which is ironic. Thanks to Khan Academy, I am taking the time
to develop a greater understanding in math and chemistry. I wanted to develop a
more well-rounded education, so I am also doing acrylic painting, writing
music, and learning French with Michael.
One of the highlights in my life is our new adopted cat.
Kobe Bubba Conklin is an adorable Russian Blue that is full of energy. It has
been a blessing to have a companion while Michael is working or in classes
while I’m home. I just can’t get enough of this little creature.
